Wirth Cabinetry is a woodworking shop that has been building custom cabinets in the Northern Virginia area for over 25 years. I had the privilege of redesigning Wirth Cabinetry’s website as my first-ever project working at Digital Craft Consulting as a web design independent contractor. This experience taught me a lot about web design for small businesses, and the end result was a modernized, clean, and user-friendly website.

Redesign Before & After

Redesign Goals:

  • Speak directly to target customers (builder partners)
  • Modernize & refresh the look of the site
  • Display quality work in visually-engaging ways
  • Provide basic on-page SEO support to increase visitor traffic
  • Make site mobile-friendly and more user-friendly

Targeting Customers

This new hero section speaks directly to target customers via both text and visuals.

Textually, it features a value proposition (“Partner With An Experienced Custom Cabinet Builder”), accompanying text with numerical evidence (“25+ years…”), and a call-to-action button linking to the site’s contact form.

Visually, the background video gives a behind-the-scenes look at the Wirth Cabinetry team hard at work in their shop, building their projects with the skill and care that comes with years of experience.

Further down the homepage, these sections build trust, show the areas where they do business, and communicate the benefits of choosing Wirth Cabinetry as a woodworking subcontractor.

Displaying Quality Work

To display Wirth’s high-quality work, the site’s portfolio page showcases their best 35 project photos, which can be conveniently filtered through by category. Additionally, the home page includes a “Featured Projects” image slider (that narrows this collection down to the 7 best photos) and a call-to-action button (that links to the full portfolio page).
