In the sweltering summer of 2023, I stumbled upon one of the most wholesome and educational corners of the Internet: explore.org’s live nature cams, particularly the popular Bears of Brooks Falls Cam, which livestreams magnificent brown bears fishing for salmon in Katmai National Park, Alaska. By the following fall semester, while participating in my very first Fat Bear Week Tournament, I channeled my newfound love for these animals into 2 university projects: a mobile app design for my web development class, and an educational AR experience for my digital & interactive technology class.
